Cleaning is never fun but always needed.
With four kids, cleaning seems to be all I do.
I wanted to share some of my tips that I use when
I tackle some of the mess in my home in the school area.
School storage is something I struggle with. I have found a way to store
all the yearly things that we want to save. Here is that link.
My issue is the day to day things they bring home.
I only file away every month or so, leaving the in between
messy and frustrating.
Here are three things I have tried and that work for me.
I like to have options because once the kids get use to something
it is no longer fun for them to take part in.
1. Office in boxes- Have the kids put their communication folders and paper in
there every day after school. Eliminates mess and clutter.
(I have 2 sets of these hanging in pairs of two)
2. Daily dump- I have my kids dump their backpacks daily. They dump everything
they don't need, store things they want to keep, and put things back into
their backpacks that they will need for school. This only
works for so long and usually before breaks and end of school.
3. Before we get home check- there are times when bringing papers home can cause
to much mess. I ask the kids to hand me their folders. I have set rules that things
will only stay nice if they are taken care of. I can go through their
bags and remove any papers that are not needed to come home.
I have also gave the office at the school permission to only send home with my oldest
so that I don't get four sets of the same paper work.
What works for you? Any tips?
