Love Dare ~ Day 1 Love is patient

Day 1: Love is patient
Be completely humble and gentle; be patient,
bearing with one another in love.
—Ephesians 4:2 NIV

Today's dare:
The first part of this dare is fairly simple. Although love is communicated in a number of ways, our words often reflect the condition of our heart. For the next day, resolve to demonstrate patience and to say nothing negative to your spouse at all. If the temptation arises, choose not to say anything. It’s better to hold your tongue than to say something you’ll regret

A happy wife equals a happy life ... true but a happy husband equals a strong home. Over this past year of rebuilding our marriage I have learned that it is not all about me. There needs to be time to listen about my husbands day, to let he have time to himself, and to allow him his time to be frustrated. We both reflect off of each others attitudes. Today I have tried not only to speak kindly but also to think kindly. I noticed yesterday when my hubs got home from work I started in why one thing was not done and why something else was only half done before I even said hello. That had to change and today I made sure of it.

My friendship with him means more than having things in order and having control over every situation. This is a dare I will keep with me over the next 39 days. One that I think is important to make this whole thing work. Ha, maybe that is why the author used it first.
